(Agencies/Photo: EuropaSur) As we reported earlier, a Gibraltar company is planning a major redevelopment project along the frontier in La Línea. In a preliminary debate, the idea was approved yesterday by La Línea Council. 'Yes' votes came from governing Partido Popular (PP) with the support of leading opposition PSOE, while Izquierda Unida (IU) abstained. A committee was established with members of all parties, to study the project in detail. IU said it hoped this was not another "propaganda exercise" as "there have been a number of projects that have never come to be."
