'New chapter' in cross border relations

(Agencies / Photo: GibChronicle) La Línea Mayor Alejandro Sánchez (right) visited Gibraltar's Chief Minister Peter Caruana at Convent Place yesterday. At a press conference after the meeting they both agreed that there was a definite possibility of an improvement in cross-border relations, with Caruana saying that it was time to dispel the myth that "what was bad for La Linea was good for Gibraltar and what was bad for Gibraltar was good for La Linea." For his part, Sánchez said that this was a chance "for a new chapter in relations with Gibraltar."  Regarding a project for a macro redevelopment of land along the border at La Línea (See CP items here and here), Sánchez said that he and his Council, "wanted this to be the definitive such project," adding, "I want my tenure to be remembered as the one that had the vision to create strong pillars in the community."
