Händel's 'Messiah' concert at Pueblo Nuevo

PUEBLO NUEVO DE GUADIARO
The Camerata Singers of Sotogrande, Jimena's Coda Chamber Choir and The National Choir of Gibraltar are coming together for an inaugural concert at the new church (Santuario de Nuestra Señora de la Misericordia) in Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro this coming Sunday, June 6th, at 8.30pm. This formidable group of 50 singers will be joined in by 4 renowned soloists: Mercedes Jimenez Camilleri, Soprano, Yvonne Edge Higginbottom, Contralto, Nathan Payas, Tenor, and Vicente Montañana, Baritone. Assisting these singers will be a chamber orchestra composed of a well chosen ensemble of string musicians from Málaga and a group of wind musicians from the Campo de Gibraltar.Yielding the baton will be the distinguished Director of the San Roque School of Music, Miguel Monge.>

This concert will be a fitting addition to a series of big works for orchestra and chorus promoted by the Cultural Association of Sotogrande in the past like Mozart´s Requiem, Vivaldi´s Gloria and Pergolesi´s Stabat Mater.
"We look forward to having this event as a fulfillment of the wishes of the Parish Administrator, Fr. Francisco to make the new church not only a place of worship but also a community center for cultural activities," says Cultural Association President Ad van Loon.  "We were granted the honor of being invited to be the first contributor to this new cultural scenario which hopefully will be filled with concerts and exhibitions in the future."
