Hospital workers at La Línea and Algeciras on protest demo

(Photo: EuropaSur) Hospital workers at the the La Línea Hospital and the Punta de Europa in Algeciras, as well as their colleagues at the Menéndez Tolosa health centre in Algeciras, staged a demonstration yesterday to protest about the central governments salary cuts for public service employees, which they said, would mean 5% less in their pay packets. The demo lasted about 15 minutes -from 11 to 11.15- and was attended by some 200 people at all the sites. More such protests can be expected in the area and throughout the country, according to the two main unions, UGT and CC.OO.
