SPAIN (Agencies) Summer often brings out the worst in people. One stupid craze among stupid youth -often drunk and/or stoned- this summer is something the Spanish media have called 'balconing'. The mixed-up word, like the mixed-up people who practice it, describes jumping from a hotel balcony into a swimming pool below. Some eight people have died at various resorts so far this summer, and authorities are expecting the count to go higher by the end of the season. Hoteliers are having to put up protective fencing (photo) at considerable expense to protect their stupid guests against themselves.
