(Photo illustration only) A man was rescued over the weekend, when Protección Civil was alerted to a diver hanging on to a rubber raft and bleeding profusely. The incident took place on Saturday, when it turns out that the diver was accidentally shot by his diving companion as they were diving in the Palmones area of Los Barrios. The rescue team was on routine patrol when they received the call. They discovered that a harpoon had gone in through the upper part of the diver's thigh, coming out from behind the knee. The man was taken to the Punta Europa Hospital in Algeciras.
