What a decade for Spanish sports!

The first decade of the 21st century has turned out to be the very best everfor Spanish sport. All over the world, the specialized media is paying tribute to this country's achievements - and the decade is not over yet. The list we have compiled is by no means complete as there are many minor sports that we might not even know about (the exception could be Gisela Pulido, of Tarifa, on her way to her sixth world kite surfing title at only 16).       2006 - FC Barcelona - European Champions League

Basketball:

      2006 - World Champions
      2008 to 2010 - Pau Gasol wins NBA Championship with Los Angeles Lakers
      2003 & 2010 - Regal Barcelona - European Champions
Tenis:
      4 Davis Cups (2000, 2004, 2008 & 2009)
      Rafa Nadal: World Number 1, 2010 - 2 Wimbledon titles, 1 Australian Open and 5 French Opens
Formula 1:
     Fernando Alonso - World Champion 2005, 2006
