ANDALUCÍA/CAMPO DE GIBRALTAR (Agencies) The Junta's Department of the Environment has just approved an investment of €1,199,984.40 to protct the cork oak (alcornoque) of the Los Alcornocales Nature Park. Among the work to be carried out is not only regular brush clearing and pruning, but also the elimination of Eucalyptii and phyto-chemical application. The project also includes improvements to the network of interior roads, which will improve access to sections that are otherwise expensive to harvest. Silvia López, provincial Councillor for the Environment says that the investment is aimed at "preserving and recovering an imprortant part of our patrimony."
