SAN ROQUE (Agencies/Image of video by Guardia Civil) Regular drivers on local roads have noticed that the Guardia Civil is increasingly active hereabouts. No wonder, when we read about the very large amounts of contraband tobacco they keep catching. The latest haul was on the A-383 road (known as El Higuerón), when they stopped a Peugeot 407 at a routine check point yesterday, and discovered 17,600 cigarretes, mostly Chesterfield and American Legend, hidden under blankets inside the vehicle. The driver, B.V.L. of Los Barrios, was detained and the contraband and car confiscated.
