Six Campo health units get quality certification

CAMPO DE GIBRALTAR (Agencies) The health centres at Algeciras Norte, Poniente in La Línea and Castellar, as well as the laboratory at the La Línea Hospital and the nuclear medicine unit at the Punta de Europa Hospital in Algeciras (photo) recently received certification from the Health Quality Agency of Andalucía, which means they all passed a series of strict parameters and thus guarantee that that the services they offer their patients are of the highest quality, as the agency's name clearly suggests. The agency, which was set up by the Junta's Health Department, measures a series of standards in a large variety of items, including such apparently disparate ones as patient handling, human care quality, patients' rights, availability of intimacy and confidentiality, clinical practices, equipment maintenance and usage and, naturally, the capabilities of medical staff to develop, up-date and improve, and the results obtained at their courses.
