They chase a car with a sword until it backs into a river, and then they rob the driver

SAN ROQUE/LA LÍNEA (Agencies) The Guardia Civil detained two men and charged them with GBH against the driver of a vehicle. The incident took place on Monday morning, when they allegedly intended to rob the driver of some €1,800 he was carrrying at the time. The victim was driving along the road in Campamento (photo), San Roque, when it was intercepted by the two supposed perpetrators on motorbikes. One of them drew a metre-long sword and threatened the driver, smashing the windows, until he put his car in reverse in an attempt to escape.>The men followed their victim, still breaking windows, until it backed into the river. They continued to threaten him with the sword until he handed over the money, with which they ran away.

The man reported the incident at the Local Police station and the GC took over the investigation, which elicited evidence from the vehicle that identified the two men, one of whom has a long record for robbery with violence. The two were arrested as they drove their bikes in La Línea.
