Women's group takes care of 20 domestic violence cases each day

ALGECIRAS (Agencies) The Victoria Kent women's organization, which deals with domestic violence cases in the town on behalf of SAVA  (Servicio de Asistencia a Víctimas de Andalucía) takes care of an average of 20 women per day, according to its President, María Isabel García Revilla, who headed a silent demonstration at Plaza Alta (photo), as they do every last Tuesday of the month, to call attention to the drama of violence against females. After five minutes' silence in memory of the victims who died - 11 so far this year in Spain, and we haven't even come to the end of February yet (Important Note: As we write this item we hear on the radio that another three victims have been killed today by their partners!) - a local personality, politician, victim or García Revilla addresses the crowd that tends to gather round. "What we want each Tuesday," she says, "is for people to visualize the silent work we do at the association." (Note: The victim's emergency number is 116.)
