Area to get €60 million in official line of credit

CAMPO DE GIBRALTAR (Agencies) The central government recognizes the area's needs, if the announcement that the Instituto de Crédito Oficial (ICO, or Official Credit Institute) announcement that it will open a line of credit of up to €60,000,000 in loans to local municipalities. This is one of several things on the agenda for the Mancomunidad de Municipios, headed by Isabel Beneroso. The representative commission of the Mancomunidad held its third Madrid meeting yesterday, this time with the Secretaries of State for Territorial Cooperation and External Affairs, Gaspar Zarrías and Luis Yáñez-Barnuevo respectively (photo), who agreed to the financial package that opens credits to local authorities for payment of current costs or to pay suppliers. Beneroso also announced that the Minister for Development, José Blanco, will be announcing new measures to be taken about the area's various requirements for infrastructure, during his visit to Algeciras to inaugurate the new railway station on Saturday.
