GIBRALTAR A bomb disposal squad exploded an abandoned piece of hand luggage left at the new terminal yesterday, according to the RGP. The baggage was discovered by air terminal staff, who asked for the owner to collect it. The request was announced over the loudspeakers several times and when the owner failed to turn up, the standard operation procedure took place and the bag was exploded. It contained female clothing, nothing more. The general alert the incident caused had traffic in and out of Gibraltar at a standstill for close to an hour, but especially that leaving the Rock towards Spain, which was held up for longer.
