GIBRALTAR (Agencies / Photo: EuropaSur) A joint operation by a Spanish Guardia Civil patrol boat and a Royal Gibraltar Police counterpart resulted in a lone jet ski beaching itslef in the sand at San Bernabé, and the driver, a suspected smuggler spotted crossing the Strait, escaping. The jet ski had crossed the straits into Gibraltar waters and was chased by the RGP, soon joined by the GC, until it finally ran aground close to La Marina restaurant. When the vessel was eventually removed (photo) it was discovered to sport a double bottom containing over 40 kilos of hashish.
