Environment Minister willing to work on new port project 'now'

TARIFA/MADRID (Agencies/Photo: IndependentTrip) The Minister for the Environment, Rosa Aguilar, said yesterday from Nairobi, Kenya, where she is visiting, that she is willing to start 'right now' on a new project for the port in Tarifa. A project by the Bay of Algeciras Port Authority was recently rejected by the Junta de Andalucia for environmental impact reasons. The Minister said that the new project would be environmentally acceptable, and has the support of the President of the Junta, José Antonio Griñán, who reasons that the expansion is 'very important for the municipality'.
